!Bienvenido! This highly informal, multilingual tribe is for posting information and discussions having anything having to do with the archaeology, history, linguistics, genetics, ethnography, and ethnohistory indigenous cultures of the Chibchan language family, including, but not limited to: Pech, Rama, Maleku, Huetar, Bribri, Cabecar, Boruca, Teribe, Terraba, Ngobe, Movere, Dorasque, Changuena, Kuna, Kogi, Ika, Bari, Wiwa, Tunebo & Muisca. This includes not only the Chibcha of highland Colombia, but peoples of eastern Honduras, eastern Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, and Colombia. (It also includes the neighbors of the Chibchan groups, such as the Taínos, Misumalpans, Chocoans, Barbacoans, and others within the larger pan-Caribbean region.) While these groups are not as well known as those of Mesoamerica or the Central Andes, as residents of the territories surrounding and within the "American Mediterranean," they played a critical role in the Precolumbian history of the New World.
